I would first like to thank all the staff that worked effortlessly, even though they were pushed well beyond their limits it once never showed. I understand that people can be very sick and not know what they are doing or saying. This is raletively rare, even though I witnessed on a number of occasions people who seemed to believe the nurses in particular were there as their own personal assistant. Cmon ladies and gents you DO know better!!!. And if you don't like something how about just biting your lip and consider what it would be like in some other country's. Thank you Bowen hospital and all the staff, from the cooks and cleaners through to the doctors and ALL in between. Cheers Neil MacIver.

Last week, my unwell husband was treated promptly, with multiple tests conducted. His transfer via chopper to Mackay was organised very efficiently. Our thanks to all the wonderful staff involved, especially Bui.

A big thank you to the wonderful medical team at Bowen Hospital, especially Dr Myra. Nurse Nick and Medical Imager Jack. I fell on slippery rocks and fractured my wrist whilst on a camping holiday in Bowen with our young grandson and niblings. This lovely team of medicos had me sorted, xrayed, plastered and back with the family in less than 2 hours! Wonderful care, knowledgeable, kind and professional staff and definitely the friendliest welcome I've ever encountered from a medical Imager- so appreciated on a challenging day.

While visiting Bowen I felt quite sick with flu like symptoms aches and pains then I started coughing blood which was quite worrying went to the emergency section and was attended to without delay , was diagnosed with influenza A resulting in pneumonia. I couldnt speak more highly of the nursing staff and drs. for the care I was given during my stay much appreciated. Henk Welten

Recently I had an unexpected accident (15/07/2021) while visiting Bowen’s Horseshoes Bay and end up in the Bowen Hospital Emergency ward. From the minute I checked in all the staff were very attentive & friendly especially Dr. Skye, Dr Peter , Radiologist and nurses who take very good care of me. Dr. Skye with her warm friendly smile make me feel so at ease even thought I was in such a agony & shock. My husband & I are VERY VERY GRATEFUL & THANKFUL to The Super Teams in The BOWEN Hospital Emergency Wards

Visited when my wife needed treatment. Triage staff were careful and compassionate. Radiologist was very thorough. Intern explained things in terms we understood.

Thank you for the care and attention given to my husband Michael Reynolds recently when he was unwell and needed rehydrating overnight and for the follow-up tests carried out at the hospital. We are now returning home with the paperwork showing the relevant information that he can pass on to the hospital consultant. Thank you to everyone involved it was very much appreciated. My Husband Robert attended the Emergency Department after hours on the 24/02/2026. From the time we arrived my husband was surrounded by a small team which became a medical emergency swiftly after arrival. The Doctor on shift late in the Evening that was by far the best we could have had during the situation that followed. My husband was Air lifted to Townsville Hospital which he endured life threatening medical emergency surgery on arrival. We both feel the fast acting team were professional calming caring Compassionate and showed ongoing empathy. We believe you all swiftly saved Rob's life. By memory I think we had a Doctor Kaya however I'm sorry if I have the name incorrect. The Doctor showed so much empathy and compassion and was absolutely outstanding with her professionalism and approach. Thank you so kindly you all worked fast and efficient and so well in a team. To the nurses on duty you need to be highly recognised for all you do. Without your fast response to this major medical emergency my husband may not have been here with us today. To the air ambulance crew my goodness what would we do without you people you are just amazing and also need to be acknowledged. Thank you kindly. Tracey and Rob.
